Re: Probiotucs after an Appendectomy?

>- The best thing is homemade yogart,

Actually not. Most yogurt only has 1 or 2 types of bacteria in it. The best yogurts appear to have 4 or 5.

Better than this is is a drink called a smoothie which has 6 different essential bacteria. There is even a non-dairy form made with soy milk.

Best of all is Kefir which has 10 different beneficial microbes including a couple of yeast that help keep Candida out. Sadly, unflavored kefir tastes like a real sour buttermilk so that it is not well liked.

The addition of real natural fruit actually does not seem to harm yogurt, smoothies, or kefir.

Other beneficial fermentations are sauerkraut, buttermilk, and kimshe ( a spicy korean form of sauerkraut ).

It is also sad that most people do not have time to do the homemade food thing. I occasionally take some time to do this but with working 12 to 16 hour days, 6 or 7 days a week, it often is not possible. I also like to grow my own bean and alfalfa sprouts but rarely have time to do this either.
