Re: Why is suicide wrong?
Hi Jimman19,
There is a God and there is loving kind spirits. We are also spirits ourselves. First you have to understand that God will never interfere in the "free will of man". This is a gift he made and a promise he keeps. We could not learn everything we need to learn if he has to constantly intervene in our lives. He is there for the asking though just as any good parent is. All you have to do is pray, you may not get an answer immediately but this is where faith comes in. You chose to come here by your own choice and the last thing God wants for someone is to hurt themselves. You also have to learn to trust the holy spirit that all things will be fine. You also have to take responbility for yourself and your spirituality. If you are in emotional trouble, then seek help. Go to a prayer group or what ever it takes to gain back who you are. One does not wake up one day and suddenly just say I do not want to live anymore. Nor does one wake for instance and say they want to be a drug addict for instance. You are what you allow yourself to become. YOu have to be the one to bring yourself back with God's help. He never said it would be easy down here. But he did say he would be there for us. Life is beautiful through the eyes of the beholder. You have it within your power to be whatever you want to be, and understand that I am not talking of the carnal nature of man. I am not talking about money, power or greed. I am talking about love for yourself and others. When you hurt yourself, never doubt you are also hurting someone else? Is that fair, you can even say it is cruel. So why would someone want to hurt themselves if they know they will bring destruction to others. Suicide then becomes a selfish act of the party who is doing it. Mankind has brought about their own destruction, God did not have a thing to do with this. So mankind will have to bring themsleves out of it, but we have to realize that it must be with God's help. This is why prayer is so important, whether it is for one person or many. We have to turn back to him and ask for the help we need. Second, it takes some willpower from the person asking as well. Do we make a mockery of the the man who died on the cross for us, should we? He did not think so, he thought you and everyone else was worth dying for and took it upon himself to do so. Hoe can such a great gift be given and one not see the value in it. He valued you enough 2000 years ago, why can you not then value yourself enough then? Everybody has pains and problems and alot o people do not get what they want in life, but this is the material life that they think of , not what God wants for us. it says seek the kingdom of God first and all good things shall come. In other words, your main goal is to seek his will, not your own. Once you do this, then you can see the value of yourself and others. I hope this helps. You are in my prayers.
