Your words did help me. I am beginning to wonder if my son did have a NDE which enable him to see and understand things that many of us who have not experienced a NDE cannot. He had a serious car accident on Thanksgiving eve of 2000. His four right fingers were amputated and he suffered face, leg and head injuries (severe concussion). We believe he was unconscious for a time, because the other boy in the car climbed out and ran to get help (we live in a very rural area). When he returned my son was out of the van (he had climbed out (van was on its passenger side) and had called us on his cellphone).

As far as we know, he did not "die" but I am beginning to wonder if he had a NDE or an OOBE. It seems as though it was after this accident that he really became interested in philosophy and chose that as his major in college. It was also after his accident that we started having our long talks every weekend about life, death, the universe, etc., etc. It was almost as if he knew something that we didn't. He never mentioned having a NDE but I know it took Rudy a long time to talk about it and others have said the same thing. I just received a short paper from a dear friend on another forum who has had two or three NDE's. I read it last night and almost everything he talks about in his paper are the same things that my son used to say to me. It was if I was reading a paper my son wrote. I know that I have already posted that a lot of what Rudy has said in his posts are the same as my son's also. So, I guess I will have to wait until I see him again but I am beginning to wonder if he may have had some type of NDE.

All I do know, is that his accident made us realize how precious life is and from that moment until he died, we went to the beach every weekend to be with him. Even if my husband had to work, I would still go. I used to say to my husband that I would stay home (the weekends he would work) and get caught up on the housework, etc., and he would say to me "go ahead and go.... the house will always be here..." I am so thankful now that I did. My house has 2 1/2 yrs. worth of forgotten cleaning, but it was worth every moment that I shared with my son. I learned so much from him and for that, I am truly grateful and blessed to have had him a part of my/our lives. Thanks again and sorry to ramble.... take care. Tweet
