You have some good points, dark, but I think there is actually something to eliminating those two President's days besides the necessity to elminate one holiday. By the way, did they eliminate one of the President's holidays to make room for MLK day?

I probably could go for a day called "civil rights days" as opposed to an MLK day. This may be nit-picking but MLK, contrary to what you hear nowdays was not necessarily a model citizen: Big-time philanderer and plagerist (liar), communist sympathizer, etc.
