I for one agree
So much for free market America. Forcing a business to provide benefits is like forcing an employee to work overtime without pay.
Forcing Walmart to provide these benefitsis wrong on many levels.
Now even more smaller businesses who can't afford to increase benefits (like Walmart can) will be forced out of the market because of competition or just having to fulfill legal requirements. Oh, and gotta hire a new admin just for the new paperwork... won't be able to make payroll this month Bob!
Now people will be whining "first Walmart forced us to buy their stuff by providing cheaper prices than Mr Cleaver's Hardware store, now Walmart is forcing us to work there by providing better benefits than anyone else in town." As they drive to Walmart to spend their money...
You can't force business and entrepreneurs to be responsible for the ills of society and then complain that there aren't any businesses around to hire or pay enough. Try to open your own business to make money instead of relying on Walmart. No incentive to be an entrepreneur? Too many expenses like employee benefits to cut into profits?
Pretty hard core socialist mindset going on here with no real justification other than "Walmart has money, and I need money".
And I'm no Republican.
