I don't understand why that scenario is so difficult for you to comprehend...that I can be against the war at its onset, yet once it has started hope for a quick and victorious ending? ("Victorious" being the key word) The world is obviously better off with a safe and free Iraq. Why would I root against that? And why would I root for failure? Why would I root for more death? If we bail out now, that will never happen and thousands of more lives will be lost.
Besides, the war is over in the traditional sense. There may be some scattered skirmishes, but the random road-side bombs are about all we to deal with. Right now, we're just trying to get Iraq stable on its own feet.
