Re: Waiting for results

I just got back from my Pediatrician's office and I really HATE going there. I feel so bad for taking my son because now they prescribed him Antibiotics and they are testing him for RSV. They shot saline into his nose and sucked it out for the test.....I am waiting on them to call me with the results. I am about to cry AGAIN because I am so torn over what is right for my son. I don't want him to be seriously sick but I also don't want to force unnecessary meds and procedures on him. I honestly think he got this cold from the damn peds office when I took him there last Monday. She asked me if he was around anyone with a cold and I said no. I am thinking of switching doctors AGAIN maybe back to the first one since he is right up the street. The one I am going to now takes me 30 minutes to get there and once I am there it's at least an hour and a half by the time I leave. I don't have time for that crap. I'm just really upset right now. Ev, did any of your kids get any of the childhood diseases they vaccine for? How did you deal with them getting sick? I feel so unprepared.....I am all for holistic/alternative remedies but don't have a clue really as to what to use. I can't make a decision or think straight to save my life right now. Oh and the ped listened to his breathing and she thinks he sounds wheezy. Should I give him the Antibiotics ??? If so should I give him probiotics along with it? Or after the course is done? Also, if his test comes back positive to RSV isn't that a virus and Antibiotics wouldn't be necessary? HELP!!
