Re: longislemom, Ev and others

Thank you! Yes I hate seeing him like that. It breaks my heart. He is SO much better during the day but at night it's pretty bad. I just called the Pediatrician to ask what would be the best treatment and the nurse is going to call me back. I hope they don't prescribe him anything.....I probably won't give it to him anyway. From what I've read using Eucalyptus, elevating his sleeping surface, using a humidifier, saline drops and suctioning are the most beneficial but I still want to see what they have to say. My husband feels like he is suffering and wants to give him medicine. I think he's getting mad at me because I don't want to. We don't have a humidifier so I'll have to get one. I just took his temperature and it's 98.9 so that is good and I was finally able to suction out some mucous from both nostrils. It was yellowish with a little blood in it. I'm wondering if my son picked up this cold from his appointment that was last Monday.....being in the office where other sick kids are. Because this started about 3 days or so ago. He's been sucking on his hands now too so I'm sure he got the germs that way. I guess it's good in a way to build up his immune system.
