Kieferklan: we're proud of you!
Hi Kieferklan and thank you for your kind words! Isn't it wonderful to have a place to share our experiences? Your post made me feel so proud of you too! So what if we have more cleansing and changing to do. We have the rest of our lives to cleanse. But let's relish what we've done today! I find the improvement in how I feel has become the motivator to continue...vs self-descipline which can come and go!
I do not feel qualified to guide you in your journey. However, I do think those of us who do not thrive on vegan/vegetarian diets will benefit from sharing our experiences with each other. I'm muddling thru this as we speak! The one thing I find funny is the idea that ONE DIET should fit ALL SIZES! I totally believe in fruit/veggie for cleansing. So I'm muddling thru what my daily maintenance diet will be.
My two negative experiences during the 60 day+ vegan diet were:
1. Horrible charley-horses that woke me up at night. (I never get these so it was very diet/cleanse related). And I had them for about 2 weeks in varying degrees of horribleness.
So I've added allot of kale to my daily juicing, eat raw almonds, avocado and brought back the boiling/simmering of the grass fed beef bones and chicken bones. I think it's hard to get enough magnesium for my body from veggies.
2. Within two weeks my joints started to crack. I am 59 yrs old and have taken good fish oil for years. It really helps my mood and my joints. I was very reluctant to let go of my supplements.
So as soon as my 30 day
Bowel Cleanse was up, I added my fish oil back. I experienced profound changes in my joints within days. They are fine again (been over a month on fish oil). In the winter months I switch to cod liver oil to get the organic vitamin a and d. Since fish is so full of toxins, it's important to buy a quality product. I buy Nordic Naturals or Carlson fish oil. I'm not really 100% confident in the quality of any supplements but these oils really affect the quality of my life - both my mood and my joints! So..it's a personal decision and a trade off. I hate pouring toxins in my body daily, but I prefer that to living without my fish oil.
HOWEVER: I will stop my fish oil, bones broth etc each time I go on a cleanse. There is no doubt in my mind that this vegan diet is excellent for promoting cleansing.
I personally won't eat unfermented tofu or soy products. I love soy sauce and buy the Eden brand.
I guess we each need to do what we are doing...read, learn from others experience and listen to our bodies.
As Schulze says...you are in charge of healing yourself. I think that means that we each need to find what works for us.
Love and best wishes as we heal together!
