I was with a guy who had this problem. Solve it by letting him lie on his back and him watching you put it on him. Obviously practice on something to make sure you put it on correctly and that you dont look like you are having a problem. lol Make it a part of foreplay and he'll be fine. I spoke to a few women who have had this problem with their men so it's a comon thing.
