IMHO--the most important key is "I've had to do a lot of SERIOUS communicating with my ... husband" : communication.

The three main (problem) areas in marriage/relationships are communication, sex, and money.

Problems start when COMMUNICATION breaks down. But if it stays healthy, then any sexual problems can be discussed, any money issues solved or endured.

Someone who reads your thoughtful response, UNLESS they have the foundation you have--GOOD COMMUNICATION--it may not apply. Sex can "hold" the marriage together, money can "hold" the marriage together, children can, fear can....

So, thoughtful advice....but only for those who have the basic foundation. For those who don't, it's going to be like trying to build on sand.....it won't work.

That is just in my humble opinion. So, if the shoe fits, wear it. If it doesn't, slip on some sandles, or go barefoot and enjoy the walk in the sand.
