Re: Islam, The Quran
Hello all / Salam alaikum
Just happened to stumble on this site. Couldn’t not pass without replying to this thread. I am a Muslim, and I felt really sad, when I read that we have to debate about who’s right and who’s wrong…to find a winner/loser, when we worship the same god.
The facts are that the world is in turmOIL, let’s not open another can of worms here… but what I want to say is that social change starts from within each individual person by changing his/her attitude towards others. I can like anyone here because we have many things in common, we are all humans, male/female, married/single divorced, we may be parents, sons, daughters, students struggling to study or complete assignments, we may have the same professional background, or similar life experiences, we may have similar problems, we may share the same hobbies. Debating about religion does not resolve any problems nor does it improve relationships.
However, I do agree that we need to ask lots of questions in order to clarify what does not seem to make sense to us. But there are proper ways/ channels of achieving this. For those lovely people wanting to challenge Islam, I advise that you visit the local Masjid (mosque), where people are qualified to answer ur questions, because as the sisters said, the forum is not a place to explore the truth, Just as if I want to learn about Christianity I will not ask people in forums, I will contact the local church, make an appointment with the priest and I will make sure there is plenty of time for questions and answer. And if I’m not satisfied I will visit another church until I find answers to my questions. So dear readers, let’s respect and make our similarities the basis of our friendships rather that find ways to extend our hatreds. I hope my comments have been helpful.
Peace to you all
Fatima
