I tried for a couple of years to home school my daughter. I got tons of information, contacted organizations and got materials. However as I tried and tried, I found that she was not learning from me because although she is very bright she has certain learning disabilities that I was unable to tap into. Subsequently, after much heart wrenching, I placed her in a very small Christian school a mile from my house. I am very involved with the school, I'm room Mom and help the teacher and principal organize all the school's activities, so that I'm always involved in her school world.
She is now in second grade, and with lots of help from the teachers we can come home and continue the work. She is doing better than I would have expected, so thank God.
But I'm still a total supporter of home schooling.
