For me personally, the only response that most people can't argue with is that God has led me to do it (this is true for me). Anything else they'll argue with. Of course they still come up with "aren't you concerned about their social skills? I know so-and-so who homeschools and their children are social idiots". Well, I certainly have not noticed this with my kids, they are popular in our neighborhood, have plenty of friends and social interaction through church and group activities and if anything they lack the common predjudices shown by many of the public/private-schooled children which enables them to get along better with others. People often comment that my kids are so good, polite and address certain talents they have, and this makes up for all the demeaning comments I've heard from people who lack any knowlege about "homeschooling"!
