Thanks for the great sites, Lydia, especially the first one. Will be checking back with them for all the info there. Dr C recommends using grain alcohol (Vodka ... cheapest I've found is "Viaka" or "Heaven Hill") instead of the propyl or isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). The liquor store owner can't believe we "waste" good vodka as antiseptic. I keep it in spray bottles and use it often. Also, vinegar, since it's cheaper, for SOME quick cleaning needs (decalcifies calcium deposit-buildup on sinks, faucets, etc). Benzyl additives are the others to avoid (in addition to all the Propyls). After much searching, we finally found some pickles which were free of these: "Gundelsheims" ("B&G" used to be OK, but recently added new ingredients, so need to keep checking). "Hill Country Fare" Mustard is also good, inexpensive, and contains Turmeric. Who else has found additive-free products? We should share our lists and add to Dr C's.
