Re: Neither do I but....
You know, you may sneer at what I'm going to say, and for sure I admit it's simplistic and seems to lack intelligent analisys behind it. SO be it. :-)
But I do not claim to understand everything I read in the OT. I do not even try to figure out what I don't understand. What I do understand is that in Jesus Christ I was made free from the rudiments of the law, and that I was made alive in Christ.
What I do know and what I do understand allows me to enter into a precious communion and dialogue with my creator that I know I would miss if I were to dwell in those cans of worms. (and I'm speaking only for myself) I know He is real, and by virtue of the fact that He is God, He is bigger and smarter than me, but He really loves me. Mmmmm nice.
I manage to be complicated enough as a person and I have a tendency to overanalyze things to the ground. So I'm realy grateful for the small miracle that at least in my faith, I accept like a little child and thus I'm very happy for it.
Not bad for a former atheist/agnostic.
