I'd be willing to bet what those people saw in their homes had more to do with cultural and social dysfunction and lack of genuine love than sound doctrine. I've heard people speaking words of unquestionable wisdom, but I could have choked and spit out what they were dishing simply because of the delivery.

There's a lot of emotionally arrested, anally retentive people out there. If they also happen to claim that they are Christians, then you have a sure formula for rebellious, confused, unhappy and wounded children. I know that if I had grown up with some of the people I've seen, especially in certain areas of the country, I would today be the very first to despise anything Christian.

You can be an illiterate, poor, humble person of any path or faith, but if you have tenderly loved and guided your children, they will be forever bonded in love. Every seed produces after its own kind. Tweet
