I can relate directly with accepting a mothers' love as genuine and valid regardless of whether it really is (whether that's the case with you, and you just don't want to admit it because you are subconsciously protecting her from her failure of a God-given responsibility to properly care for her child, only you can decide that) and not being able to form a proper understanding of the concept of LOVE. This might be a blessing in disguise for some of us because it encourages us to 'look deeper' (develop eyes to see and ears to hear, as it says in scripture) and learn to understand more about the CONCEPT of love (which is very important for the Christian because "GOD is LOVE". In order to be able to hear God CLEARLY when He speaks to us, we have to understand that 'love is ONE' Galatians 3:20. There are not 4 types of love, there are 4 types of love RELATIONSHIPS. We are not supposed to FEAR God, we are to LOVE Him ONLY with ALL our heart, mind,soul and strength because fearing God is a commandment of men, not God (Isaiah 29:13). The fear of God is only the BEGINNING of knowledge (for the unsaved, Proverbs 1:7). It is important for us as Christians to understand the concept of love in order to have a better personal relationship with Jesus, but also to understand 'love' in our life relations on earth to those around us, but also what we are willing to accept. If we don't understand that real love is 'ONE'(instead of 4 types), then we will have a poor understanding of what love is, and will never be able to receive (let alone understand) and feel worthy (low self-esteem) of the real thing.

Having a better understanding of 'LOVE' enables us to get our thoughts together and see more clearly what is going on in our lives (not just understand the Lord better) by being able to look OBJECTIVELY at what we are accepting and convincing ourselves that we only deserve what the other person has to give us (like we are beggars and have to SETTLE). I know it says in scripture that we should honor our mother and father, but mine weren't worthy of honor and I had to decide not to be a hypocrite (the Lord doesn't like hypocrisy, it's not good for character or dignity either).

PLAN:

1) Learn the proper concept of love.

2) 1 Timothy 1:7 Become arrogant (huffy, not shallow ego) "..we were not given a spirit of timidity, but of POWER and [the] self control [necessary to regulate that power]. If I boast, I boast of the Lord.
Our past erased, our present blessed, our future assured, death has lost it's sting and has no hold on me. It should take the power of the Holy Spirit to teach a Christian humility.

3) Consider the possibility that you are not being shown the proper love that you should be getting from a parent because you have been conditioned since childhood to accept whatever is given to you and are convinced that is all you are worthy of.



STOP BEING SO SUBORDINATE, the Lord doesn't like it.
