Re: Help! Trying to Avoid Root Canal! Looking for a Biological Dentist in Portland, Oregon
Jawg,
I decided to postpone my extraction for several reasons:
1) My naturopath started me on a homeopathic protocol which helps fight bacterial infections and boosts the immune system (Unda #2, #37, and #710; Bacterial Immune Stimulator, Lymphatic Stimulator, Gammadyn Cu-Au-Ag, Immugen, and a BioVegetarian Immune Booster).
2) A week later I went to the dentist to have nerve testing done (bad tooth scored 27 as opposed to healthy tooth at 35)and another x-ray was taken. Much to my dentist's surprise, my infection had improved. My dentist truly believes that something must be done about the tooth (
root canal or extraction) because re-infection is likely to occur and be worse.
3) I believe that I may still be able to avoid extraction altogether and save the tooth. My dentist explained that after a
root canal procedure is done and the tooth is sealed. If there is any remaining bacteria in the tubules the body will fight it off (don't know how that is possible if there is no blood flow there?!). If I have the extraction done and have implant put in, then bone will eventually grow around the implant barring any rejection.
Based on what he stated above, my body has enough regenerative powers to heal the infected tooth if it can kill bacteria sealed in the tubules or grow bone.
Am I right to make this assumption?
I welcome any comments or suggestions.
Thanks,
Sydney
