Re: Just Classics: Citizen Kane

LOL! Maybe our viewpoints are illustrative of the difference between a guy watching movies and a gal watching movies. ;) I certainly would be moved by seeing David or Cistine Chapel and both are on my list of things to do before I pass on. :) but Kane perhaps is too much like a bad date. ;) I'd rather the film had more Joel McCrae heheheheh.

So let's see... great films... Well, I have pretty odd lists LOL! but the movie that always come up as being great for me lately is
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. And it's not even one I can watch over and over on DVD, but it hit me really hard when I saw it in the theater and I went back several times over. For me it was an ultimate high in my movie-going life, so much so that I don't go as often now. It's like, I climbed Mount Everest, why dawdle amongst the foothills? ;)

I also loved American Beauty, but most of the movies that I watch over and over don't exactly qualify as great films in the sense that these are the ones that set the bar the highest, they're just the ones that tickle my fancy. :) Some that might qualify as ones everyone should watch would include:

Annie Hall
A Room with a View
Last of the Mohicans
Heat
Sense and Sensibility
Dangerous Liasons
The Sting
The Great Escape
Sullivan's Travels
Philedelphia Story
Heathers
Election

oops I have DVD's that have to go back!!! argh!! must run!
