Re: Mouthwash For Plaque Removal?

Sorry I forgot to mention a mouthwash called The Natural Dentist Gum Therapy that claims to have the same antimicrobial properties as prescription Chlorhexidine. I thought it might be a great option for perio patients as the Chlor. caused increased tartar buildup and brown stain. Tried it out for a 3 month period with several patients and the results were less than promising...back to the prescription. They resumed heavy bleeding and pocket depths that were no longer stable. No stain, but not much else of a benefit. For someone in good periodontal health it may help, tho. Worth a shot!
