Yes, fasting can be very tough. And it's not for everyone. But...the all or nothing approach works best for me. I didn't want to fast over the holidays. I'd reached absolute bottom, and I was finally ready.
You might consider G. Cousen's information in Conscious Eating. He has a chapter on beating alcohol addiction. It's also included in his
Depression book. When I tried his formula of vitamins and minerals, the craving dissipated by 75%. Enough to give many, perhaps most, people a leg up.
The bible on the non-group approach is Seven Weeks to Sobriety by Joan Mathews Larson. In fact, that's where Cousen's got much of his own information.
You're not just a "drunk" dragongirl. You're a good person struggling with a chemical dependency.
