If given intravenously it has to be sodium-ascorbate. Also, it is better and more readily absorbed as a vit.C salt (sodium or calcium) then acid.

I take calcium-ascorbate and it's wonderful, much better then ascorbit acid I used to take, and much cheaper then ester-C...
