Taking supplements is not an alternative to nourishing your body with good whole foods and cleaning the accumulated crud from your organs. That said, everyone needs to start somewhere and it sounds like you're making a good start.

You've had lots of good advice. The only thing I'd add is to start a journal. Log what you eat, how you feel, how you sleep, eliminate, when you excercise, all your BP readings, etc. Don't be judgemental -- be mindful and aware of what you do and how you feel. Not only physical feelings, note your emotional state, stress levels, etc.

Don't re-read the journal for two weeks. At that point, you may have enough to start noticing patterns. The 3pm candy bar to lift your energy to make it through the day, or drinking a couple beers every evening to relax. Or perhaps you notice that the changes you are making have already started showing subtle improvements in your mood, fewer aches and pains upon arising, etc.

Evaluate where you are, notice things you may want to improve. Make steady gradual changes and you'll be amazed how easy it is. A year from now, read the begining of your journal and celebrate your progress!
