Re: Vit C and Calcium

I do think too much C (ascorbic acid) leaches calcium from bones. It seems logical that too much ascorbic acid in the body will try to neutralize itself with an alkaline like calcium or magnesium or potassium... basic science. Mix ascorbic acid and calcium in water and it will react violently. Vitamin C is great at healthy levels, but like anything else too much will throw the body's balance out of whack.

C does help the body absorb calcium, but this is also what makes it leach that same calcium FROM bones when too much C is flowing through your body, looking for something alkaline to react with.

C will dissolve your tooth enamel if you chew or mix C and let it touch your teeth. Why would that change when it then goes to your bloodstream and reaches your bones/teeth?

You could overdose on calcium or take calcium/sodium ascorbate to compensate, but then you are chasing the problem and creating even more imbalances with too much sodium/calcium.

I got great results healing my gums with megadosing C, but then after 6 months or so I cracked a tooth, chipped a tooth, and developed problems in my wrist bones from exercising. Coincidence? I don't know, but I never had those problems before. I did cut back C supplements to 1 mg of C per day max plus whatever I got from my diet. I do think megadosing C can be good SHORT TERM to heal tissues or fight ailments, but I also think megadosing long term will be too hard on bones and teeth.

Not following or discounting anyone here, just using my own logic and experience. Take it for what it's worth!

BTW I hope no one here is blindly following ANYONE's advice on Curezone without their own research and common sense, and also hope that we aren't trying to sensor opinions and limit information. In the end we make our own choices.
