Celebrities get locked into their
own image.
Dear Cyrulis,
Health Gurus like Andy Weil, Richard
Schulze, Joe Mercola, Doctor Atkins,
and others, were at one time,
anonymous human beings, known only
to their families and friends. The
same is true of any Hollywood star
or media icon.
In their early years, the soon-to-be celebrities are open to receiving
new information. Their windows and
doors are open; they're literally
creating themselves out of all they
see and hear and believe.
But once they're become celebrities,
whose faces and names are known to
millions of people, most of these
men and women close down. They stop accepting new information; they're
no longer open to new ideas. Why?
Because their fame may be
threatened or extinguished if they
make a bad career move. So they stick with whatever it was that
brought them to the attention of the
masses. That's human nature. They
moor their boats to the stream of
life, and say, "Here I stand."
You must look not only at the Guru's
words, but at the Guru himself. I hope this doesn't sound catty, but
when I look at Andy Weil, I see a
man who is at least 60 lbs overweight. Ditto Doctor Richard
Schulze. It's no coincidence that
both men sport beards -- which hide
their sagging jowls. Dr. Atkins
was another celebrity who, when he
died from a simple fall, was 70 or
80 lbs overweight.
Both Weil and Schulze, as talented
as they are, will have to be very
lucky to keep their health into old age. Have you ever picked
up a 60 lb dumbbell? Imagine carrying that around every day!
Imagine the strain on every cell,
on every organ.
I have enormous respect for what Doctor Schulze has written. But there's a part of me that wants to
shake him and say, "Richard! Richard! If your eating regimen is
perfect, why are you so heavy? Why
can't your wonderful cleanses remove
all the excess weight you're carrying around? Why do you still
admit in your newsletters to getting
colds and flu, however short-lived
they are?"
Andy Saul is another doctor -- not
as well known as the others -- who
has been using mega-doses of vitamin
C for more than 25 years. He gave
large doses of vitamin C to his kids
when they were growing up. The kids
never got sick, and neither did Andy.
I'm not a celebrity, thank God! Just
a very lucky 64 year-old man who
began taking mega-doses of vitamin
C back in 1977 when I was 37. I weighed 190 lbs, and looked like
Andy Weil without the beard! However, my vegetarian eating-regimen, along with BIG daily
doses of vitamin C, melted off that
extra weight in 6 months. I've stayed at 140 lbs for 28 years.
And in all that time, I've never
been sick. I give most of the credit
to the mega-doses of vitamin C.
Thank God I read Linus Pauling's book back in the mid-1970's!
If large doses of vitamin C hurt
people, or bring on illnesses or
degenerative condtions, I should be
long-since dead or bed-ridden.
But I'm not. If you saw me standing
between Andy Weil and
Richard Schulze , you'd wonder who the toned
and healthy-looking guy in the middle was.
So always look at the Guru. Trust
your intuition about what he says,
but don't forget to look at what he
is. Actions speak louder than words.
If you keep an open mind, continue
to educate yourself, and listen to
your Deep Intuition, the Deva of your Soul, you will never be sorry.
Blessings,
