Re: Is there a website for dating someone impotent or who wants a sexless relationship?
BTW - You dont have to "give up" on sex. I love sex but I would never willingly give someone this virus. I will use protection (condom and anti-viral gell = 99% effective) and make sure to tell them that I have HSV and that they understand the potential consequences of what may happen. I also wont engage in anything if I feel an outbreak coming on. Chances are a new partner might run away but if they do tough luck for them. I love to please and every girl I've been with in my lifetime has always complemented me on it. So if they run off after the speech tough luck for them. They'll be missing out. Most likely I will be with someone that has the virus as well (through those herpes dating sites) but who knows...well see what happens I guess.
Also remember the Herpes virus has been around with us humans for a very long time. Probably at one time it was a very dangerous virus that killed us within days (much like Bird Flu H5N1). But its adapted (and us too) through selective evolution and learned not to kill its host. It just uses us as a breeding ground to reproduce and spread.
Penicillin was only "discovered" in 1929 and brought to the mainstream medical community in the 1945. That was only 50 years ago (in our billion plus evolutionary life as a species). There are several vaccines in the works that will significantly reduce transmission and prevent the HSV virus from infecting new people. Our ability to extract and examine our DNA has allowed us to create these vaccines....one of which I've posted. These are only a few years away and are currently in the trial phases.
Thats only if we dont kill ourselves through war, greed or whatever else....
