Very interesting point, Grace!
Whatever is going on inside, when we make improvements, still somehow we are drawn to make them.
I know that I judge the value of a change, an improvement, by a feeling of warmth and well-being that I get within twenty-four hours.
First, a new way looks very attractive...seems like a good idea. Then I sample it. Then I get a kind of glow, happiness, that tells me this is best.
I don't get this reaction to everything I try. Some things lead to nowhere, and I find myself drifting back to the same old same old. (A little depressed, maybe?)
But, if I get that nice glow, the new way becomes a part of me...or, at least, something that I prefer. I don't forget it.
I hope that we all have that little something extra that helps us to adapt.
My best,
