hello fledgling, nice to hear from you.

Perhaps the gardening thing can get going
( for its umpteenth incarnation!! :-)in the next months, when Mom manages to make the move she's almost in the process of. She wants to leave the Mayan coast (lovely to visit, hard to make a life there) and move to the west coast, where there are quite a few Canadians and more focus on natural health, yoga and that sort of thing, and where my sister now intends to spend the winter months with her young daughter. It's difficult where our mother now is in part because they speak a kind of spanish that's entirely other than what she learned previously, when she lived in the interior.

She's been through a lot in the last three years or so, including coming to Canada to care for my sister through cancer treatments and help with her young daughter. It was a lot, and I was not able to help with that, except spiritually...


I've just met a very good Tibetan doctor though, and I think Mom is interested in coming to see him. To be honest, he's the first "doctor" I've ever met I have faith in. And more than even he, I have faith in the long line he comes from. Herbs and 'healing' are his tradition, not the awful symptomatic relief that she's currently leaning on.(as are so many others, sadly.)

I think this is what will give her the chance to rebuild her life, so I'm not(now) feeling such desperation (and a sense of helplessness) when I think of her asking
me for help...

The Tibetan doctor is helping *me, greatly* right now. So I'll be the example. Crossing my fingers and praying that there's still lotd of time...
