Re: In need of some help ... (don't know whats wrong)

Hi Again Pete...You are so close to solving your own problem...you can't be anything
but extremely excited.

And yes...the first thing you should do is get on that "good" diet for a few weeks that makes you feel better. Get your mind clear of the cobwebs so you can think
clearly...and it will be so easy to sort it all out.

To touch on a couple of things you mentioned or asked about...
Your old diet above...the one with the sugary breakfast of cereal, toast & jam...
would put me in a Sugar coma before I had the table cleared. Then you're adding to
your self sedation by coming back with cookies, etc from the snack machine for your
breaks...sandwiches with BREAD (OH GADS!!!) for lunch...and probably processed
luncheon meats (OH GOLLY MISS MOLLY) and then it sounds like you're having a typical
SAD (Standard American Diet) for supper...and that's probably loaded with salt, sugar, additives of all kinds...processed meats with dyes and antiobiotics from
the grocery (roast, etc). It's like you're sitting down to your table and saying
to yourself..."Ok, let's seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...how many poisons will I eat at
THIS meal? Ok, I'll have...that one...and that one...and oh, give me a dab of
THAT one!!!" :-)
Now, I don't mean to sound cranky, Pete. Most of us have done the same thing until
we learned better. My husband and I and our kids (who are all grown now) used to
live to eat..and we'd sit at breakfast talking about what we'd have for lunch..and
sit at lunch talking about what we wanted for supper...then at supper, we'd be
discussing what we were going to have for what we called our 'tv snack'. Now a
'TV Snack' at our house when the kids were young... was no minor happening. We'd
boil a big pot of corn on the cob...roll it in a butter tray to saturate it good...
shake on the salt...and we'd all sit on a big pallet in front of the tv and have
what we called "pallet picnics"....boy, those were the days. :-) Or some nights,
we'd roast marshmallows in the fire place (pure Sugar 'pom poms'!!!)..oh I could
go on and on about our meals and pallet picnics. I don't know how we kept our
weight down...I guess because we were so active.

Dairy IS mucous forming...and yes the mucous can come on very fast. You can pour
up a big glass of milk or a big coca cola and be mucousy by the time you finish the
glass. You can type in 'mucous forming foods' and get a good list. But all dairy
and sugary foods are mucous forming.

You said your 'snack of carrots and cashews' made you feel worse. Well, carrots
are high in sugar...and cashews are high in fat and usually salt. Try a handful
of almonds or walnuts for your snack...and add a couple tablespoons of yogurt or
cheese. Now the yogurt and cheese 'are' mucous forming...but you say they
don't bother 'you'. If it was me...I'd go with the yogurt...that's good for your
tummy also.

We ALL have an intolerance to 'chemicals and additives'...as you stated you think
you do. But too many of us are not smart enough to realize that is what's happening to us. So thank your lucky stars that you DO realize it and are ready
to do something about it.

All our foods have just changed from the 'old days'. :-) Our grandparents and
great grandparents ate all the same foods we eat today, pretty much. They'd have
bacon and eggs for breakfast...a big glass of milk...biscuits with butter. Then
for lunch or supper, they might have fried chicken, whipped potatoes, fried corn,
fried okra...and top it off with a big bowl of ice cream. But they didn't have the
additives in their day that we have in ours. They raised most ALL of their own
food. They raised the hogs for the bacon, ham, etc...chickens for the chicken and
eggs...cows for their beef, milk,...they even churned their own butter. They raised
their own veggies...so there were no additives there. It was just a different day
and time...and a much healthier one.

I hope you will think about this over the weekend...and plan to start Monday. Go
back on the 'good diet' that you have had so much success with...and stick to it
through the end of May. I guarantee you, you will see a big difference by the end
of NEXT week.

Leave off all sugar...and if you just must have a dab of something sweet...save it
for the very end of the day. But try to just drop sweets cold turkey for this
experiment. Leave off salt and all processed foods...nothing with additives...buy
only fresh veggies...if fruit bothers you...leave that off. But try an apple and
see what that does...just have a few slices...maybe with almonds or walnuts.
Kind of keep a 'log'...and jot down bad reactions to any foods that you have.
Add lots of raw spinach to your salad...it's really very good and so good for you.
It will also help tremendously with your colon cleansing. It won't be like taking
a laxative...it will just be 'natural'.

Do you possibly have a juicer and a mini trampoline? A juicer (and we have a Champion...cost is about $200 in the US...or you can get one on ebay for a fraction
of that)...but a juicer is a good way to get in your veggies and in juice form,
those nutrients go right to your starving cells. A good juice recipe is this:
4 or 5 carrots
huge handful of spinach
1 apple
you can add other things...1 or 2 Celery sticks...piece of cucumber...but keep it
SIMPLE. juicing doesn't have to be complicated ... and the juice is delicious.
It would be good to introduce your kids to juicing while they are young. :-)

And the mini trampoline is just good for the whole body, too. You can get very
expensive ones...but we got ours at Walmart about 15 or so years ago...and it cost
about $20...they still have them for about the same money...and it's just like
new. But you just "bounce" on it for about 5 or 10 minutes a couple of times a
day...it is so good for the lymph system. You can type in "rebounding + health
benefits" and you just won't believe what good a mini trampoline will do for your
health. And remember...your feet never have to leave the trampoline...you don't
JUMP...you BOUNCE. :-)

Be sure and check the mucous forming foods...just type that in and do a search...

A few months ago, I added the cottage cheese and flax oil to our diet...I also add
a little pineapple for taste. Now, I do that every day...sometimes my husband
just doesn't want to take the time. But I've noticed a definite improvement in my
vision...and I know it's from the flax oil....and also leaving off the sugar.
Recently, I had a problem with my retina trying to tear (as in break away)...and
when I went to the Opthamologist...he first wanted to do the 'regular testing'..
and they did the eye chart thing. I could see the bottom line and said I couldn't
believe it...the doctor said..."Oh, do you wear GLASSES?" I said, "I USED to wear
them to see far away...but lately I haven't needed them." I could even see the
bottom line on the chart. It was amazing. So eating healthy...and taking care
of your body is well worth the time. Your body will thank you for it a million
times over.

Keep a log, Pete...and even jot down how you feel at the end of the day. Also jot
down how you feel when you get up first thing in the morning. If you MUST have
an evening snack and that's common for you...try this experiment over the weekend.
On the first night...have cake or whatever you usually like to have and in the morning...write down how you feel as soon as you wake up. You will probably feel "heavy"...severe brain fog...light headache...just general sluggish feeling...like you want to go back to bed. Then on the next night...try to eat
fairly healthy all that day like you stated in your post...and in the evening...have just a few almonds or walnuts and a "little bit" of yogurt or cheese....then write down the next morning how you feel. You should feel "lighter"...more alert...less brain fog...more ready to meet your day.

Life is too short to waste even one day. We have to all learn to eat to live instead of living to eat. There is so much more to life than food!!!
A healthy Diet most of the time...with an occasional 'treat' is definitely the
way to go.

Sorry I was so long....that's why I don't have time to post these days...I'm just
too big a blabber mouth...and I couldn't make a short post if my life depended on
it...I'm always afraid I'll leave someone wondering about something and I explain
in wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much detail.

Keep us posted, Pete....and good luck. kathryn
