I'll give my opinion. I'm extreme. I don't use one and I don't have one.

Because I don't use one, if by chance I go to a person's house that has a microwave and they prepare anything in it - I can taste the difference, even if it is water. The microwave changes the consistancy of any food or liquid that is warmed or cooked in it.
