My Naturopath is very pro-vitamin C, he says that there are at least twenty health problems that can be eased and often cured by Vitamin C alone. He wants me to take vitamin C every day. Assuming he is right and those of us who use vitamin C are not "drug addicted freaks" who are constantly "peeing our bones out of our bodies", then what is the best form to take? Right now I take both sodium ascorbate powder and rose hips. Many claim the ascorbic acid powders work well and they are the cheapest and easiest to find. Then I see something called "Ester C", what is that? I had a bottle of ascorbate minerals that contained a wide variety of minerals; I notice the product EmergenC also talks about ascorbate minerals, does this form allow for safe and effective use of both vitamin C and the necessary minerals? What is the real difference between natural C and the manufactured vitamin; can the body really tell the difference? The more I read and study, the more I know I need to learn.
