Yes, it seems that schools today do not offer as extensive of an educational background as they used to. I have a niece that graduated high school in '97. It is amazing how little she knew. She was an 'A' student too.

However, if you want to get beyond the 7th grade level of knowlege, there is still a lot of information available on the internet.
