I'm new to this forum and a member of a gay foster/adopt family.

Contrary to common belief that gays foster to convert youngsters into a gays, I (and one of my other sisters) am a well-adjusted female marrying a male. My three other gay sisters chose my foster parents as their parents and came gay. The youngest, who are two and twins, will make their decisions later in life, but are healthy, happy, and not confused that they have a mommy and mama.

Also, my family is a myrid of colors- from black to white, mexican to puerto rican. We teach tolerance for a lot of things, not just fear of other ethnicities or homophobia. In my house, 95% of the girls, including me, have been raped or sexually molested. We are taught to understand that not all men are bad and not to be gay to be with women because they are "safe", and that society isn't just a terrible place.

I don't know how this affects the conversation, but I wanted, I guess, to point out a few pros of gay parenting.
