Re: update on B17/vit C IV treatment

I'm glad you are finally using healthy, non toxic methods. It is really great you (both)stuck to it for 5 weeks.

So now:
her energy is up a little
CA up also, though
is despondent
lost weight
lost appetite

Besides saying this is weird....what's your (both of you) theory on this?

Which one comes closest to your theory (of what happened)? At this point in time:

A. "We thought 5 weeks of natural treatments would be enough to negate the side effects of 6 months(?) (I don't remember how many it was) of a few chemotherapies and maybe other drugs, and that she would stay the same as she was at the end of the chemotherapy." [....Ask yourself, does it happen this way?]

B. "We thought that after 6 months of chemotherapies (& other drugs) and 5 weeks of natural treatments we would be able to see improvements, and as a result of seeing that, we would feel better. We didn't want to see anything negative, especially having the cancer level (CA) in her blood go up."

C. "We thought that after 6 months of chemotherapies (and any other drugs) and 5 weeks on natural treatments would be enough to declare her well, so now we are depressed."

D. "We think it's currently obvious that the non toxic treatments we just started are causing the CA level to go up, and so we are despondent because it means the new treatment isn't working (and we spent :( that money on it). This is weird because this is not supposed to happen."

Depending on what you think the cause is...that will influence what course of action you take next. So it's important for you both to figure out what you think is happening now, like for example, when the CA level starts increasing and upsetting you, does it always mean the tumor is starting to grow again?

It would depend on what kind of test she took, and how it measured the cancer or the thing it was measuring. You do know that she was taking non toxic treatments to reduce the cancer. Those dead cancer cells and their toxic insides would gradually be released into the bloodstream by the body (from the bodily tissue where the cancer is located). This would cause the presence of cancer to be HIGHER and more easily picked up blood tests that test the blood for it.

I would suggest that you read through, again, all the posts (just click on your name in your post) that responded to your questions. You will see that somewhere in there other people have said the same thing, and you'll feel better.

Just because the CA went up, that BY ITSELF, does NOT mean she is relapsing and getting worse.

Remember not to judge just by one item, (CA level) alone. People who have cancer don't have a good appetite while they develop the cancer and before any therapy. Was she steadily losing appetite and weight since starting chemotherapy? Or did she lose a lot more weight in these last 5 weeks than the previous 5 weeks? There could be 2 reasons for this: the cummulative side effect of chemotherapy, and did she make a big change in diet since going on natural type treatments, and does not like the food. I would start by getting these answers from her, the appetite is important.
Toxins in the blood will make her feel like not eating a meal. (The toxins are on their way to the kidneys in order to exit the body--that's what you want!--to get rid of the toxins/dead cancer cells, waste matter in the blood.)

Weight loss by itself is not necessarily bad. The body is gathering its resources to fight the internal battle with cancer and lets go of the maintenance of the body's outside cosmetic look. While this is alarming to those taking care of the patient, it is smarter for the (better) internal (organ) workings of the cancer patient. (There are previous posts on this.)

Cancer is not caused by one thing. It is caused by many things. All those many things have to be eliminated. That she felt somewhat more energetic is a good sign.
See if another cancer patient of the same age began to feel energetic after the same length of chemotherapy plus 5 weeks, or did it take them some months (without steroids that is)? These are questions you have to ask. Otherwise you can't make a fair comparison because you won't be comparing the same things. Keep improving the diet by eliminating those things she ought not to eat. Read to her about the results people get from natural, non toxic treatments to inspire her to stick to her diet/regimen. (The diet is not inspirational by itself.) How is she using the energy her body is slowly saving up for itself (I hope she doesn't do a massive house cleaning or strenuous stuff)? If this is a bad habit of hers, she has to substitute a better, easier one in place of it. One more bad thing eliminated, one more life style change made for the better.

Both cancer and osteoporosis destroy the biochemistry of bone (tissue) and can increase Ca (Calcium) blood levels. Did the place you went to tell you what you might expect as a result of this event in the near future?

I don't recall if they charge you for every phone call to ask them a question or not anymore, but I wondered what their opinion on the blood test results were or did you get them in the mail?

I would like to know what are the reasons your mother gave for believing the higher CA in the blood test was bad. If you believe in theory (A above) and she has her own (different) theory of how this disease should go or be treated, then she won't do what you suggest will she?

Your both working on this project (restoring health) so you both need to work to make time to read something pertaining to her in natural/non toxic treatment or healing. This is very important. There are plenty of free stories on the internet and this website and books in bookstores (if you are not doing this already). This old example bears repeating: if you are in a strange country you need a map to see what lies ahead, before you get there. If you are going to an unknown place, you need to look at a map to know how to get there. You (both) need to read, everyday, how other people with or without cancer using non toxic methods restored their health. For one thing, you would gain a better understanding how something like higer CA can have more than one interpretation. ( :) I guess that's one reason you posted it.)

There's plenty of people here who would answer questions you ran into from reading others' testimonials/books. It's too bad we can't go to our parents for this because although the Science principles that Alternative Medicine is founded on are taught in school, the methods and results are not. So you become like a skier skiing down a mountain trying to outrun a sudden avalanche before it catches up with you. You go along in life then suddenly you have cancer and now you have to learn how to save yourself by learning everything (Alternative) all at once and follow it the correct way! It would be so much easier if it was taught in school starting in the first grade along with the conventional methods they already teach.

If I were you, I would not feel I had reached a dead end. You have gone down a new path in the woods a short ways. Maybe other people who had an elderly parent with chemotherapy will post what it did/did not do for them and help clear up some doubt about this new, non toxic way. She has a little more energy, trust you are doing the right thing, stay on the protocol, look for small improvements.
