I also have had a similar experience recently with the specialist who diagnosed my stage 4 stomach cancer...( I have posted here many times urging people to try Pau d'arco, which is the main thing I credit being alive and Cancer free 4 years later to...I was expected to last 4-6 months after diagnosis),.
At a recent visit he asked what I thought was responsible for my recovery...when I told him " the Pau d'arco" he said "bollocks" ( literally) then preceded to tell me that anything of benefit re herbs etc had already been discovered long ago !!!
I aked him what he thought it was then and he said " spontanious remission or a miracle " ....
It amazes me that someone can be so closed minded as to believe in these things but not alternative treatments,herbals and nutrition etc..

Good Luck with your meeting...I hope you make them squirm ;-)
Keep proving them wrong...its incredibly satisfying..
