Re: Macrobiotic diet cures cancer
Macrobiotics is not just a diet, it is an eastern religion. Many parts of the diet are fine, but the emphasis is on eatern diet, and foods fromthe west are shunned no matter how nutritious they are. For example, tomato has lycopene, a well known cancer fighter. But tomoatos are not part of Macrobiotic diet. Also, the wife of the the US macrobiotic empire died of pancreatic cancer.
If you want to adapt a diet that will minimize your cancer risk, then you need to look to organic 80% raw diet. Eliminate the 4 whites (white rice, white flour, sugar, and salt), and if you use the 5th (milk) use in moderation and only use hormone free. Eat lost of salads with raw veggies and light olive oil dressing, raw fruit, and lightly steamed veggies. Eggs, fish, and pultry in small amounts (always organic, hormone-free). Avoid cooked fats.
