Re: ACV is destroying my psoriasis.

To anyone and everyone

It took me 40 years to find out why I had eczema/ Psoriasis all my life.

I was born with a bad case of cradle crap and have had varying degrees of eczema/ Psoriasis (the docs can't decide which it is, it probably both in defferent places)
All my childhood was marred by the worst symptoms, cracked lips, particularly at the sides and dandruff. A great dating look! The only benefit that at around 16 all my friends had spots and I didn't.

In my mid-twenties things got so bad I went to the skin specialist to be told I had 'lip-smacking' eczema and if I stopped licking my lips it would all go away. My respect for the medical profession hit an all time low that day. For goodness sake what were we paying them for?

Things have cleared up a couple of times and I was forever searching for the nutritional magic bullet. Was it onions... What could I eat to help.

What I found was what I had to leave out.

After going on the zone diet in my early 40's I starting finding that within two hours of eating cottage cheese or yoghurt my lips would start swelling and cracking.

Aha!

I tried goat's milk yoghurt and sheep's milk yoghurt, the same result.

So, I concluded, it is something to do with milk protein.
Now, If I avoid milk protein in any form my skin is not subject to any Psoriasis or eczema.

Avoiding milk protein is quite hard, it hides in Salami, bread, tinned soup...

Flour can have it added and the manufacturers of bread don't have to tell you.

Bread was one of the worst offenders, I react to some breads very quickly.

Anything with fat in it slows the process so I can eat milk chocolate and cheeses occasionally.

I haven't found a source of unpasterised milk to test whether it is to do with deranged protiens or gone on a complete Elimination Diet to fully identify all the things I might also be intolerant of but this is enough for me.

Going on the zone diet did two things here I think. It got me eating more vegetables and unprocessed food and hence unmasked my allergies and also exposed me to identifiable sources of irritation.

How this helps someone.

Otherwise, when I was broke, I lived on stir fried vegetables (frozen peas, a carrot, beansprouts, a chicken thigh, oinions, garlic), tinned mackeral on toast, tinned tomatoes and add boiling water noodles.

I have not had better skin in my life.

When I had money I blew it all on poor food choices (and still do sometimes :-))
