HI. I believe the tie between psoarsis and cancer is the fact that many people use UV rays to help the poarisis which inturn can cause skin cancer. Smoking attributes to the cancer but the psoarsis itself does not cause cancer or turn into cancer on its own. Psoarisis is a genetic (completely hereditary) disorder. I know because I have had it from birth. 58 out of my 58 years. It has not turned to cancer on me.(knock on wood, lol). I don't smoke (but did as a teenager) quit after 4 years.I haven't smoked in over 40 years. I have the occasional drink. 3 or 4 per week. I believe everything in moderation. It's the excessive behavior that triggers diseases. Psoarisis is not a disease it is a genetic disorder. I myself sunbathe but not to extremes. I have bought every OTC and prescription out there. My psoarisis covers about 90% of my body even my fingernails & toenails. It is a constant battle. Don't worry about the cancer thing. De stress yourself...stress is a trigger for psoarsis. Sadly tho I am stressed all the time...that is worst than the psoarisis.
