Re: Feeling terrible. is it die-off or diet?

All vegetables are carbs. They all have a carbohydrate value there is no way of avoiding that. As a matter of fact all food, even meat has a carbohydrate value. The purpose behind a candida diet is to eliminate simple carbs mostly , such as white bread, sugar, potatoes, rice, pasta etc. However, if one is really ill as I was I needed to avoid as much Sugar as possible. Certain carbs are known to be bad even if they are complex carbs. Corn is bad and so is whole wheat etc. But the point is that you cannot completely eliminate carbs because a.) it is impossible since everything has a carb value and b.) everything has a carb value for a reason...the body does need some carbs.

I think you are losing the idea here. You must try to eliminate all things that will feed the candida but that does not generally include most vegetables. Most vegetables are compex carbs which break down very slowly and provide the body with much needed minerals. Many of us on the candida diet cut out the simple carbs and eat mainly meats and vegetables. This diet is a very low carb but highly nutritious. So I guess I am a little confused when you say you do not eat the carb containing vegetables as they all contain carbs. And actually you should be eating mostly vegetable on this diet even more so than meat. You cannot starve the body as weakening the body will only make matters much worse.

You symptoms could be more die off. If you had a serious case of candida it will take a while to clear out , many months or longer of sticking with treament. I have been seeing threads and clumps since as far back as November and they keep coming. Also candida can being dying inside and releasing toxins making you feel worse even if the threads come out I have found that I feel bad still.

Maybe you need to take a few days off of the antifungal. And coconut is a bad thing to eat. It is moldy and of no value unless you are referring to coconut oil. Yogurt is also tricky and can be acutally feeding it unless it is homemade and fermented for a long long time to remove all sugars. If you are eating store bought yogurt you are getting plenty of carbs in the form of Sugar trust me on that. And that could be making you tired.

Also, what have you changed in your diet in the last week or so? I found with myself that anytime I noticed a substantial change in the way I was feeling other than the day to day feeling like crap off and on, it turned out to be something in my diet. I started feeling anxious and tired and it turned out to be the almonds I was eating which can be a classic moldy food. Eating any food with any mold content at all can make you feel aweful. This includes, leftoevers, wet lettuce, nuts of all kinds, coconut etc. and even green tea was doing it to me as tea is also a classic moldy food.

After saying all that, feeling tired is a classic sign of die off also. Hopefully you are taking vitamins and minerals and drinking plenty of water to help the body remove toxins. Hopefully you are having a bm at least 1 a DAY or doing enemas to keep things cleaned out. I find that I feel substantially worse when digestion slows down.

The problem here is that the symptoms from candida flair up and die off are the same usually. This is because when you feed them they release toxins and when you kill them they release toxins as they die. It is really a matter of assessing anything you may have eaten to cause a flair up either by feeding them or something moldy. If you have not eaten anything different or done anything any different since before you started feeling bad, then it could be a bout of die off and it does come in bouts. I am not sure how long you have been at this diet thing, but I had candida many years ago and it was no where near as bad as it was this time and even back then it took me an entire year to get well. This is a process.

If you are not seeing any threads it might be time to start doing enemas if you are not already. I use warm water, very warm and it seems to work well. Test the water and make sure not to use anything too hot...just warm.

And , if you are not doing so already, take some magnesium and calcium. Magnesium is lost to candida and a deficiency will cause fatigue also and it can help you with die off.
