These things are all dependent upon the genetics of our immune-system--which is sooo complicated you can't imagine!! Your boyfriend may very well have the necessary antigen recognition and antibodies for something he is routinly exposed to. Plus, you may have a certain sensitivity to antigens which are usually harmless to others. I know, it just seems to get more and more complicated. Shroom
