I just got a chance to answer your previous question.

As for birds - I didn't have a pet bird, but did live out in the woods and growing up my father must have had 4 or 5 bird feeders in close proximity to the house. We also had several pets, dogs and cats, that were free to roam. The cats frequently brought home their birds that they caught.
