Re: Found incredible Nutritionist/Pharmacist
yup, congratulations. after a few months of being convinced i had candida and doing self-treatment with all kinds of things, i found a doctor too. an amazing, fabulous acupuncturist/chinese medicine specialist, and it's thanks to her that i am walking and talking now. she did the most elaborate lab tests (stool and urine), and then i was like an open book to her. it turns out i don't have candida, which was totally under control, but another bacteria that's making me bloat and giving me gas; that the brain fog and all cognitive symptoms are because of lack of essential fatty acids and severe malabsorbtion problems; it turns out i was severely depleted of vitamins and had a subclinical B12 deficiency anemia!!!, and consequently critically depleted of antioxidants, and my liver was totally messed up and not able to function properly.
today was my third treatment, and i have TREMENDOUS improvement. first she gave me 4-5 shots of B12 while waiting for my results, and then started with electro-acupuncture, antioxidants, and custom-made(!!!) vitamins. interestingly, she did an acup. treatment on my thyroid, even though i thought i never had problems with it, because in chinese medicine it's apparently related to the function of the liver. results: first the fatigue went away, 98 percent! then the brain fog. it was gone in a couple of weeks. and the lightheadedness/confusion. that's all gone! my thinking is crystal-clear. the coordination of my fingers is a little off, but she says not to worry (i couldn't type for a while...)
she is doing a highly individual treatment now, and working very very slowly, and very "gently," as she says. no detox yet, no cleansing or things like that before my body is fully replenished and back in balance, otherwise it can't handle it. so what was my point? ah, an advice for people on this board: do not diagnose yourself!!!! unless you have the expertise. there are many things that can cause the symptoms that candida gives you, and after so much reading and researching, i tend to side with those that think candida cannot exist on its own, there is an underlying problem, a malfunctioning organ or a dysbalance, that needs to be properly diagnosed. there are really good people out there and the right labs for that. i know, i am paying tons of money but i was in the deepest of dungeons for three months, seriously, and having my life back is like a blessing.
