Well, according to the research I have done the recommended dose for women my age is between 500-700 milligrams per day. Between ,my multi, my vitamin c and the cal/,mag I was taking upwards of 1500 milligrams a day. After a week of this I have had loose stools for over a week now every morning. That is a symptom of taking too much. That means you should back off. So last night I took 900 milligrams, still too much but I was better today. So far today I have only taken 350 milligrams and probably take another 100 before bed. I really believe since the burning seems to disappear that it must be due to magnesium. That is why I keep persisting in taking it. I know I must have been low on it. I am hesitant to get my hopes up that I finally found the answer, but as each day passes I am more andmore convinced. I will truly believe it if I have 1 month with no burning.
What happens it because of the malabsorbtion I had a deficiency. To fix the deficiency I began taking large doses which turned out to be too much. Obvioously there is a fine line between the right amount and too little. My body is sensitive and I only weigh 100 lbs so taking the max dose for an adult was too much. When you take too much you cause yourself another deficiency. Hope this makes sense. In any event I am trying to build up the level of magnesium in my body without causing myself to lose any thru diarrhea.
