Thats really interesting that you can actually pin down a particular time in your life that you developed the Gilberts Syndrome and relate it to your intake of medication when you were very young. I honestly cannot be sure in my case how long I have had the Gilberts - when it started or even if I was born with it. I have taken hundreds of Antibiotics throughout my life (from being a baby) so maybe that could be a factor - I just dont know. I have taken antidepressants at times (when I have been able to tolerate them) but I knew I had Gilberts way before I started taking those pills. Sorry Alex I cannot be more helpful. From what I have read Gilberts affects the Glucoronidation pathway within the liver which plays an important role in the detoxification of estrogens (you probably already know anyway). Since starting my periods I have always had hormonal problems and been unable to clear the estrogen effeciently. How about you? The underfunctioning of this pathway can also lead to overload on other liver detox pathways - which then causes problems with SAD, O.C.D, addictions, perfectionism. I seem to have accumulated alot of these problems too but the Livertone is so helpful and helped beyond belief. Sorry this has got rather long - its just nice to chat with someone else who has the Gilberts!
