Re: urgent question about "topical" antibiotic
I have used topical/vaginal
Antibiotics for a chronic vaginal bacterial infection - I may as well have just swollowed the pills my yeast symptoms increased so bad. Apparantly 40% of whatever we apply to our skin is absorbed. So yes - and in my experience vaginal
Antibiotics are definately absorbed systemically. I even contacted the manufacturers and they told me that this was the case. I realise now that my bacterial infection is due to the imbalance of flora in my body. It is pointless taking the
Antibiotics - they just make it worse. Acidophilus capsules (gelatin based) have helped control the infection whilst I work on trying to get things back into balance again. I too have never had yeast infections - but suffered terribly with bacterial - but I know I have candida. Not everyone with candida has vaginal yeast infections. Good Luck

Until the good bacteria gets re-established it is pointless taking the antibiotics - they just make it worse.
