Hi Nspeth. I worked for USAA for 7 years, but left because the 1.5 to 2 hour commute was too much. We moved to the foothills to get out of the city, and now have 2 acres of land. We're planting 20 fruit trees next month, and trying to expand the garden (but there's not much sun until we get a LOT of trees cut.

I love USAA too! I became eligible after 1 year P/T with the company, and I'll keep them FOREVER! My hubby rear ended someone at 2-3 miles/hour, and she's sueing for close to $40,000. USAA is fighting it instead of giving in. Unfortunately, I can't get homeowners with them because they don't insure mobile homes. But if I ever move to a "stick-built" house, I'll be right back with them!

Keep posting your progress. It's a lot of steps, but we're on the right path!
