Re: Fruit and Vegetable washes?

Hi nspeth!

I use the same thing to wash my fruit and veggies that I wash my skin and hair with. I make my own soap sometimes - a nice oatmeal soap, and I either use that, or my favorite store soap - Burt's Bees Rosemary Bar Soap. I just scrub or wash the fruit and veggies with it and it works fine, gets the coatings off, and leaves no taste. I just found out from watching a cooking show on TV today something that really freaked me out and angered me - the wax coating that you see on lots of fruit and vegs at the supermarket...you know - the coating that makes them look all nice and shiny? It's made from animal fat and animal by-products! Argh. I've been looking for confirmation of this on the web somewhere but haven't found anything definitive yet.
