I don't usually brag and "toot my own horn", but on this forum I was forced to say the good things the church does in defense of it. Every church member is not going to be the model of a Christian. In fact, that's why there is church, for sinners. Jesus said He came to heal the sick, not the healthy. So next time you see people worshipping in church, don't think, hypocrites, suckers, manipulators, and money grabbers. But instead think, those people are getting healed, and they have a Good Savior, and all is well. And it is!

I feel bad for you that your parent(s) gave all your money away to a church, and then you had to eat out of the garbage. I don't understand that. Jesus specifically says He came to give us abundant life, He wishes no one to be poor. That seemed like a bad judgement call on your parents part, b/c you should never give what you don't have, esp. if you have children. Lesson learned, I guess. But don't blame religion/God for something your parents did. Two wrongs don't make a right.
