a true story

If a religious organization or person has to "toot its own horn" about how many good deeds they have participated in, it really doesn't count. It is the same as watching a commercial on television or an ad in the newspaper saying "Hey every one, come look how righteous I am!"

My memory of christian charity is when I was a kid the church my mom belonged to pressured us all to contribute so much money we literally ate food from the trash. We would dumpster dive for produce behind supermakets and wear old clothes so "god" could "pour us a blessing from heaven, so much we wouldn't have room to receive it." I kid you not, this really happened to me. What a load of crap! Religion and god are man made ficitious entities that people use to control one another, it's sick really.

I don't feel compelled to brag about the things I support or how I support them. I want the MERIT of my practice benifet ALL mankind, not just atheists.
